I recently ran a half-day workshop on grief that focused on grief issues NOT associated with death. The content will form the basis of a series of books that I’ve planned that will deal with the many facets of grief that we face in day-to-day life: retrenchment, retirement, relocation, children leaving home, serious illness, past abuse and violence, relationship breakdown, missing your children after  relationship breakdown, etc.

I have made this the focus of my counselling work. I have learnt a lot about the reactions of men and women to situations which trigger grief and some very powerful work can be done with clients prepared to take the tough path to  understanding the impact of unresolved grief in their life and the impact on those around them. The intent is simple - to find a new freedom from the past for the client and their family.
